OMG! I have been calling for 2 weeks to get an appt.. It was always busy and when I got someone answering the phone she put me on hold and after 15 min. I hung up. Called back this morning and got through. The person answering the phone is very very slow, that is very concerning, I asked her why? She said she is the only one answering 4 lines and she is the M.A.. very concerning. As a M.A. she could not answer a simple question I had. It took her over 20 minutes to give me an appt.. This is the only rheumatologist on my very bad health insurance Ambetter Sunshine Health and I'm not sure I will go see this Dr.. , (He is over 40 miles away but the only rheumatologist accepting this insurance). I'm not sure I will go there it sounds SCARY to me!
Worst doctor you can go to. Bad bedside manners. Poor listening skills. Worst staff. No one answers the phone. No one returns phone calls. Prescriptions are not filled on time and when they are, it's the wrong medication. If you care about your health or the health of your loved one, stay away from this doctor and office.
I agree that his bedside maner is very bad! He talks to his patients with complete disrespect. I took my mother there today whohas a very bad case of OS and FM and suffers from horrible pain and he didn't give her a exam. He refused to put her on a medication that he started her on and claimed he couldn't prescribe it for her. I find it sad that if you are on disability and receive Medicaid that you don't get quality health care but I can go to my pain dr. That I pay cash for and he prescribes me everything I need lyrica my Antidepressant muscle relaxer and my pain medication all because I pay cash! I am glad she filed a formal complaint against him with the insurance company!
Based on this and other reviews I am seeking an alternative referral.
I have been a patient of Dr. Avni, for way over 16 years. As for doctor, Avini. He is very kind, patient, and very courteous, no matter when I call him or visit. As, for his staff. Vannesa, she's excellent! The rest of them, are very, very, rude and have poor customer service skills. . . Lack of patience. If you have a problem with his staff, all you have to do is. Inform him, of what took place. Overall, I love Dr. Avni, and I have no plans on going anywhere:-)
I was referred to this Dr. by my Insurance Provider and called three times in an attempt to get an appointment. Every time if defaults to voice messaging and despite me leaving messages explaining the pain I am suffering, they have not returned my call.
